before ever installing them, so don't really know whether there would have been a drone without the wrap. I did it primarily to speed the flow of exhaust gases, but also wanted to mimic the insulating properties of the stock mid pipes, to keep the car's footwells comfortable. I've no doubt traded off some power gains with the Borla cat back. Its resonators are large, and the pipes -- though mandrel bent stainless steel -- are a bit smaller in diameter than other popular after-market options. The mufflers, themselves, though, are probably very efficient. So it's a trade-off I consider worthwhile.
